Q&A Dog Training was established in 2020 by Masina Kakese
Masina worked in the pet industry for several years in Vancouver, BC before deciding to head back to school in 2018 to start a career as a professional dog trainer.
In this industry, growing your business, adapting to the developing landscape of animal behaviours, and staying on top of new training techniques is a full-time job but passion makes it easier. That passion has guided Masina to work instinctively with dogs and humans, set rescues up for success, ease behavioral tensions, and help new pet parents with their puppies.
Masina brings a non-judgmental, fun, and calming energy to her sessions. Her curation of education and on-hands knowledge has proven to be a successful leading trait with humans and dogs. Her training approach focuses on force-free or positive reinforcement methods and she specializes in rescue and reactivity cases.
As a strong, vibrant, and independent trainer for other aspiring BIPOC trainers, Masina is proud to be one of the first Black, Force-Free dog trainers in the lower mainland.

Tidbits About Masina
Masina's muse and bff is her dog Q. He's the Q to her A and has been quite the inspiration around her business, as you can tell with her logo.
Masina worked as a professional dog walker for many years for an awesome women-run company in Vancouver called West Coast Dog Walking. She would take 6 dogs at a time into the mountains in West Vancouver for some off-leash fun. Maybe she's even hiked your dog in the past?!
Aside from dogs, Masina's true love is travel. She loves to explore and see new parts of the world as much as possible. A few places she's checked off her list have been Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico, Miami, Hawaii, Alaska, Dominican republic, Mexico City, and more. But she calls Vancouver, BC home.
One of Masina's favorite pastimes is taking Q down to the water or the forest. She loves both of these spots almost as much as Q does!
